The Day of Play is a state wide celebration recognizing the importance of fitness, health and wellness for kids of all ages.  Families are provided an opportunity to learn about a healthy lifestyle.

Free Admission!

Come spend the morning at Tumbleweed Park as we promote health, wellness, and fitness for kids of all ages. Free activities will get the kids playing and their minds active, while parents can explore the various booths on health, wellness, and fitness.

Day of Play will feature a variety of fun activities organized by many of the non-profit organizations, businesses and municipal divisions serving the community.

**THIS EVENT IS CASH ONLY - NO ATMS ARE ON SITE; SOME VENDORS MAY ACCEPTED CREDIT CARDS**

Jump Rope Contest presented by Modern Woodman
Location: Main Stage at Day of Play
Contest Time: 10:45am-11:15am

General Information:
     • It’s FREE to participate
     • Register on event day at the Information Booth from 9:00am to 10:15am
     • There are two age categories: 4-6 and 7-10, with a maximum of 50 kids in each 
       category
     • The 4-6 age group will start right at 10:45am, the 7-10 age group will immediately 
       follow once they have completed the first competition.
     • Please be by the stage at 10:30am to get your jump rope to compete in the
       competition & line-up in your age category.
     • Participants need to be accompanied by parent/guardian
     • Participants will be photographed and pictures can be used for publication

Contest Format:
Ages 4-6
     • How long can you jump rope? Let’s put it to the test! In this age group, the winner will
       be chosen by who can jump rope consecutively for the longest period of time.
     • Whoever is the final jumper left at the end of the contest will win a prize and a Jump
       Rope Champion certificate!!

Ages 7-10
     • Round 1: everyone will jump rope forwards for 30 seconds without stopping. Everyone
       who successfully does this gets to move to Round 2.
     • Round 2: everyone who's left will jump rope backwards for 30 seconds without
       stopping. Everyone who successfully does this gets to move to Round 3.
     • Round 3: anyone left will have to jump anyway they'd like for as long as they can
       without stopping.
     • Whoever is the final jumper left at the end of the contest will win a prize and a Jump
       Rope Champion certificate!!

Rules:
     • Must use the jump rope provided.
     • Must be present from the start of Round 1 to be eligible to win.
     • There will be Chandler staff members who will help monitor the competition. Once
       one of them has tapped your shoulder, please kindly stop jumping rope and go to the
       side to watch the rest of the competition.
     • The winner of each age group will be announced immediately following his/her age
       group contest
     • Contestant must be present in order to claim his/her prize, otherwise the prize will be
       given to the runner-up.
     • Jumping Rope will take place on grass.

Aikido of Phoenix
Aikido is a Japanese defensive martial art that focuses on redirecting the attacker’s energy to help you escape, disarm or protect yourself. The skills you learn in Aikido offer more than just a physical means to defend yourself. You become stronger in mind, body and spirit. Aikido of Phoenix is an organization committed to teaching Aikido as a complete Budo, which means that we address the physical as well as the mental aspects of training in a martial art. Teresa Mastison Sensei is the Chief Instructor for Aikido of Phoenix as well as the instructor for all their children’s classes. Pound
Come join Danielle from Tumbleweed Rec Center & learn the new craze of POUND Fitness! Pound is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series. Burn between 600 and 900 calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique – all while rocking out to your favorite music!

Zumba
Zumba instructors from Tumbleweed Rec. Center (aka TRC Zumba Crew) are the best in the West!Certified in Zumba Basic, Zumba Toning and Zumba Kids these instructors offer classes at TRC 6 days a week. With various formats of this Latin based aerobic workout available, there is something for everyone! In addition to weekly classes at TRC, we host thematic parties with costumes, giveaways and tons of fun. We invite you to ditch the workout and join come party with us!!


Aspire Kids Sports Center
Aspire Kids Sports Center is a 32,000 ft. gymnastics and swimming facility in Chandler. We offer classes for all ages in gymnastics, swimming, dance, martial arts, acro sport, tumbling, and trampoline. Aspire is home to an 80 ft. trampoline--the largest Tumble Trak in the state of Arizona! We offer year-round swim lessons in our indoor, heated swimming pool. Aspire is conveniently located one block west of the Chandler Fashion Center and one block south of Chandler Blvd.

Studio 3 Performing Arts
The Showstoppers from Studio 3 Performing Arts Academy, Gilbert’s pre-professional triple threat training center for ages 2 through adults.Located on Guadalupe, between Gilbert and Cooper, Studio 3 specializes in musical theatre and audition coaching. They offer classes in dance, theatre, voice, and music, and produce 6 full length plays and musicals each year. Dance Matrix
