The City of Chandler will hold a public ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, to rededicate the Sunset Library after the completion of an extensive multiphase renovation project. The Sunset Library serves the west Chandler area and is located at 4930 W. Ray Road.

The renovation project began last fall and included new carpeting, furnishings and equipment, including a new computer lab. The Sunset Library also has a new service desk, an early literacy area, an enhanced computer common area, and a dedicated space for teenagers. A new community living room allows Library visitors to relax, read and enjoy views of the adjacent Sunset Park. Public art has also be integrated into the facility through a partnership between the Library Division and the Chandler Arts Commission

On May 12, the library will open to the public immediately after the brief rededication ceremony and ribbon cutting. Normal hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Library customers are encouraged to visit www.chandlerlibrary.org for more information about the facility and the services and programs it offers.
