Museums and Galleries Chandler culture is enhanced by its museums, public and private art galleries, and its many exhibits of publicly funded works of art.

Arizona Railway Museum 330 E. Ryan Road in the southwest corner of Tumbleweed Park 1/2-mile S. of Germann Rd., 1/2-mile W. of McQueen Rd. 480-821-1108 This is a community effort toward the acquisition, restoration, preservation and display of railway equipment, artifacts and mementos related to Arizona railways of the past and present. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (closed June-Aug.). Call for tour info.

Chandler Arts Commission 480-917-6859 The seven members of the Arts Commission advise the City Council and City staff on the purchase and placement of community art works and the disbursement of Municipal Art Funds. The Commission usually meets the third Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. at the Vision Gallery, 80 S. San Marcos Place (see below).

Chandler Museum 178 E. Commonwealth 480-782-2717 The Chandler Museum houses a variety of interesting displays and archives that preserve the rich history and heritage of Chandler. There are continuous special events, new exhibits and ongoing outreach programs taking place at the Chandler Museum and throughout the community. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday; Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays.

Exhibition Hall at the Center for the Arts 250 N. Arizona Ave. 480-782-2680 This outstanding performing arts facility also features visual arts in its Exhibition Hall and numerous works throughout the lobby and hallways. These exhibits cultivate community interest in the arts and help the center serve as an inclusive cultural institution. Hours are Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.

McCullough-Price House 300 S. Chandler Village Dr. Southwest of Chandler Fashion Center 480-782-2876 The historic McCullough-Price House serves as a special event facility and is available for rentals. In 2001, members of the Price-Propstra family donated this Pueblo Revival style home, built in 1938, to the City of Chandler. It was renovated and opened to the public in June 2007.

Public Art Program 480-917-6859 The Chandler Arts Commission administers the Art in Public Places Program, commissioning and purchasing unique works of art for the enjoyment of Chandler residents and visitors. Funding is through the City's Percent for Art Ordinance. One percent of limited capital improvement projects, primarily new buildings and parks, is allocated for the acquisition, commission and installation of public art in municipal buildings, on street corners, in parks and other public areas.

Vision Gallery 80 S. San Marcos Pl. 480.-917-6859 This non-profit art gallery serves as a cultural center in the heart of our community, Historic Downtown Chandler. It is managed by the Chandler Cultural Foundation. The gallery represents more than 200 national, state and local artists, and the exhibits are rotated every six to eight weeks. All artworks are for sale.

Vision Kidz Art Program Vision Gallery, 80 S. San Marcos Pl. 480-917-6859 The popular Kidz Art Programs at the Vision Gallery in Historic Downtown Chandler are one-day art workshops in all mediums, designed to expose children to the visual arts. All workshops are taught by professional artists and are free to the participants. Class size is limited and they fill up quickly. Call for details.

Zelma Basha Salmeri Gallery of Western American and Native American Art 22402 S. Basha Road 480-895-5230 This private collection features more than 600 pieces of art depicting numerous mediums, including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, pastel and charcoal drawings, pen & inks, bronze, wood and natural stone sculptures, wood-turned bowls, basketry, pottery, kachinas and jewelry. It is located at the corporate headquarters of Basha’s Grocery Stores in south Chandler.
