Join with your friends and neighbors to enjoy a cool nighttime parade where every entry is beautifully decorated with colorful holiday lights. After the parade, enjoy the official lighting of the annual Tumbleweed Tree!

Event Festivities - 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Parade - 7pm; Tree Lighting Ceremony - approx. 8pm
Downtown Chandler
Free Admission

Families, local school groups, marching bands, civic organizations, neighborhoods, dance troupes, and businesses are all welcome to participate in the parade (see the entry categories below) and add to the pageantry of the Tumbleweed Tree Lighting Ceremony. This event helps to bring our community together to kick-off the holidays.

PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT NOTICE
The 2017 Parade of Lights will once again have a registration fee.  The registration fee will be $25 per entry.
  Due to the popularity of the Parade of Lights and the limited space, a registration fee will now be charged to all entries.  The registration fee will be applied to the prize money of the first place winners of the eight judging categories.  Registration fees will not be collected until an entry has been officially confirmed for participation into the parade.

PLEASE NOTE:  As of August 8, all walking entry spaces are full.  Any applications for walking entries will be placed on the wait list.

Entry deadline is Friday, October 13, 2017 at 5pm OR when all entry space is reserved.

Entry Sign-Up Procedure
1. Read the Parade Entry Information Sheet for all dates, rules and regulations
2. Complete the Parade Entry Application (pdf) or the Parade Entry Online Application
3. Wait for the entry confirmation to be sent via email to Parade Entry contact person.
     - all further details, including payment, will be provided to Parade Entry
     contact person by email or phone
4. A Wait List will be available for entries should space fill up

**PLEASE NOTE - No more than 60 total entries will be allowed in this year's parade, which is dependent upon entry sizes**



Parade Route
The parade will start at the corner of Arizona Avenue and Frye Road! 
       **PLEASE NOTE: NO parade seating within the intersection, must be north of the
       crosswalk on Arizona Ave.
The remaining portion of the route will be - north to Buffalo Street on Arizona Avenue, east to Arizona Place and south to Boston Street
 

2016 Parking
Guests attending the event are strongly encouraged to arrive early to find parking. There are several locations to park at throughout the Downtown area. Please visit the parade overview map for suggested routes to access each parking site.
     **Please be aware that Arizona Ave. will be closed from Chandler Blvd. to Frye Rd.
     from approximately 3:00 pm to 10 pm.


Disabled Parking Services
Guests arriving for the event in need of disabled parking will be able to use the lot provided for them. Parking is located on the corner of Boston St. and San Marcos Place.
     **PLEASE NOTE: there is limited disabled parking in this location. It is a first-come 
     availability. All other lots and parking garages have additional disabled parking spaces
     available.



2016 Road Closures Information
Road closures will take place for this event. Please make sure to plan accordingly on how to move around the area.

San Marcos Place at Buffalo St
San Marcos Place on the south side of Commonwealth Ave
Commonwealth Ave on the east side of the Alley (west of San Marcos Place)
Arizona Place at Buffalo St
Arizona Place at Boston St.
No Street Parking along Arizona Ave from Chandler Blvd. to Frye Rd.
No Street Parking along Boston Street from Arizona Ave. to Delaware St. 

Streets to be Closed - Beginning at 3:00 pm
Arizona Ave. at Chandler Blvd. to Frye Rd.
Buffalo St & Washington St west side at parking structure
Boston St & west of First Credit Union Parking Structure Entrance (Closest to Senior Center)
Washington St. at Chicago St., just north of City Hall parking structure entrance
Chicago St & Arizona Ave. east and west sides
Boston St & Arizona Ave west side
Buffalo St & Oregon St east side (hotel entrance open)

Frye Rd. at Arizona Ave to Delaware St.
Frye Rd. at Arizona Ave eastbound traffic with right turn lane only
Arizona Ave. northbound traffic detour at Pecos Road to either McQueen Road or Alma School Road

Washington St.

Parade Entry Categories
All entries have the option of being judged before the parade begins. Please review the categories carefully and choose only one that best suits your entry. Entries choosing to be judged will be considered for Judge’s Choice and Pride of Chandler: All-America City!
