Chandler Municipal Airport ranks among the busiest general aviation airports in the entire country. It is a general aviation reliever facility with no commercial commuter or airline service, however, on average, 260,000 operations, or take-offs and landings, occur at the airport each year.

330 days of sunshine and mild climate make Greater Phoenix a hub for aviation enthusiasts and businesses. Chandler Municipal Airport is one of eight reliever or public-use airports, not including Sky Harbor International, in the region.

1. Chandler Municipal Airport is a publicly-funded airport delivering an annual economic impact of more than $53 million*.

2. Chandler Municipal Airport operates 24/ hours a day/ 7 days a week which keeps the airport within its FAA grant assurances

3. Chandler Municipal Airport was established in its current location in 1948. 

4. On average, more than 260,000 operations occur each year, placing Chandler Municipal among the nation’s busiest general aviation airports.

5. The airport is still growing. By 2025, experts suggest the 9-square mile airpark area will be home to more than 25,000 jobs. Hundreds of acres surrounding the airport are available for development. Opportunities include, but are not limited to, aviation-related commercial uses.

6. By 2025, it is projected that over 400,600 take-offs and landings will occur each year at Chandler Municipal

7. The Heliport at Chandler Municipal Airport is regarded among pilots as one of the best facilities in the southwestern U.S.

8. Chandler Municipal encourages pilots to voluntarily abide by Fly Friendly / noise abatement standards. These incorporate actions suggested from several of the top aviation organizations in the country including: the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) and the Helicopters Association International (HAI).
