The eleven-member commission advises the City Council on the operation and development of all City housing projects and on matters relating to the welfare of the City's low and moderate income citizens.
The Commission is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council and Public Housing Authority on the annual Community Development Block Grant and Section 8 funds. When necessary, the Commission reviews suggested projects within the Redevelopment Area and makes recommendations on their appropriateness.

Requirements: 11 members; must be a qualified elector; resident 1 yr. preceding appointment; one member must be a resident of a public housing site; one member must be a resident of the City's redevelopment area.
The term of each member shall be for three (3) years, and each member shall serve until his/her successor is appointed and qualified. Any vacancy in office during the term shall be filled by the Mayor with approval of the Council for the unexpired term.
