Frequently Asked Questions: Chandler Center for the Arts

The sights and sounds of the stage are alive inside Chandler's signature event location. Here is a list of some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) that City staff receives about the Center from customers.

Where is the Center located?

The Center is located at 250 N. Arizona Avenue, near the northwest corner of Arizona Avenue and Chandler Boulevard.

How can I find out about events at the Center?

You can visit our Web site, or call our box office at (480) 782-2680 and request a season brochure.  Additionally, our events are included in the City Scope calendar of events in your water bill.

How are programs selected at the Center?

Programs are selected by the Chandler Cultural Foundation, a non-profit corporation under contract with the City to program and raise funds for the Center.  Their decisions are based on artistic quality, community needs, economic feasibility and the program’s distinction in the Phoenix-area market.

How are programs funded?

Programs are funded by ticket sales, donations, grants and facility income.  Funding from multiple sources is necessary in order to keep ticket prices affordable to the public.

Can citizens make suggestions on programming?

Absolutely!  Suggestions can be e-mailed to: michelle.maclellan@chandleraz.gov.

Why are there so many school events at the Center?

The Center represents a unique partnership between the City and School District whereby capital and ongoing operating costs are shared between each entity.  As joint owner, the School District uses the building on a daily basis during the week. The City uses the building on weekends to present performances. The building rarely sits empty!

Free parking is located on site, with free shuttle service to the Boyer garage for many large capacity events.  To find out if the shuttle is running for a specific event, please call the box office at (480) 782-2680.
