Our neighborhoods are the heart of Chandler. Take a moment to look at what some of our Chandler neighborhoods are doing in the community.
New Horizons Neighborhood
On March 28, 2011, residents from the New Horizons Neighborhood developed a Neighborhood Action Plan and established committees to address the actions identified in the plan. These actions were the results of a neighborhood assessment survey that the residents participated in.
Recently, the residents of New Horizons participated in a survey to vote on their favorite street sign topper design. The winner was sign #2 with 71 votes out of a total of 108 survey results. The winning sign topper will be placed at the main entrances of the neighborhood. Below are the results of the survey.
A total of 212 surveys were mailed. Our office received a total of 108 survey results back.

Orangetree Neighborhood
Orangetree held its first neighborhood meeting on November 3, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Anderson Elementary. At this meeting, the core group of 19 residents reviewed the neighborhood survey results and discussed plans to hold a larger neighborhood meeting in January. The goal of the larger neighborhood meeting is to develop an Action Plan for Orangetree. Below is a copy of the survey results for Orangetree.
Pamela Park Neighborhood
Pamela Park held its first neighborhood meeting on February 9, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Trinity Christian Fellowship, 50 S. McQueen Rd. At this meeting, the core group reviewed the survey results and began working on their Neighborhood Action Plan.

Armstrong Neighborhood
Armstrong Neighborhood is located at Delaware St and Galveston St. Leaders from the neighborhood participated in the 2012 Fall Traditional Neighborhood Academy to help improve their neighborhood. The residents of the neighborhood recently participated in a survey to vote on their favorite street sign topper design. The winner was sign #4 with 13 votes. Below are the results of the survey.
A total of 141 surveys were mailed out. Our office received a total of 23 survey results back.

Historic South Chandler Neighborhood
Historic South Chandler Neighborhood is located at the southeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Pecos Rd. Recently, the residents participated in a safety fair and clean-up project held in their neighborhood. The residents also participated in a survey to vote on their favorite street sign topper design. The winner was sign #6 with nine votes. Below are the results of the survey.
A total of 145 surveys were mailed. Our office received a total of 20 survey results back.

San Mateo Estates Neighborhood
San Mateo Estates Neighborhood is located off of Arizona Avenue and Knox Road. Recently, the residents of San Mateo participated in a neighborhood assessment survey and took part in Live Love Day and held a neighborhood clean-up. The residents also took a survey to vote on their favorite street sign topper design. The winner was sign #2 with ten votes out of a total of 33 survey results. The winning sign topper will be placed at the main entrances of the neighborhood. Below are the results of the survey.

Sunset Vista Neighborhood
Sunset Vista Neighborhood is located between Galveston and Erie Streets and Hartford and Evergreen Streets. It's a well established older neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The individual designs of the homes gives the neighborhood a unique charm. Sunset Vista held its first neighborhood meeting on June 25, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The core group of 18 residents participated and worked together on an Action Plan for their Neighborhood.
Silk Stocking Neighborhood
The Silk Stocking Neighborhood is one of Chandler’s oldest neighborhoods located north of Chandler Boulevard and east of Arizona Avenue. In October 2008, the residents of the Silk Stocking Neighborhood took steps towards preserving their neighborhood and a part of Chandler’s history. The neighborhood completed a National Register of Historic Places Nomination. The National Park Service (NPS) and the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) reviewed and approved the neighborhood nomination. On August 29, 2011, the Silk Stocking Neighborhood was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Amberwood Neighborhood
Amberwood held it's first neighborhood meeting on January 26, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Sirrine Elementary. At this meeting, the core group of 20 residents reviewed the neighborhood survey results and begin working on their Neighborhood Action Plan. Below is a copy of the survey results for Amberwood.
Green Valley Neighborhood
In March 2010, residents from Green Valley took steps towards improving and preserving their neighborhood. The neighborhood begin working with City staff to re-enact Block Watch and participate in G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) Event. The neighborhood residents also applied for a Neighborhood Grant which they were awarded in November 2010. |
