Chandler's Hispanic Heritage Month Events
The Human Relations Commission and City of Chandler are proud to be a part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, in honor of the many contributions of Chandler's Hispanic founders and residents through the years.  

Please participate in one of the following events to celebrate Hispanic culture, traditions and fun in downtown Chandler!

Garibaldi Night

Named after the popular "Garibaldi Square" in Mexico City, Garibaldi Night will be brought back to Downtown Chandler this fall!  This FREE event is the only one of its kind in the Valley and will feature mariachis, ballet folklorico dancers, food and a variety of art vendors.

14th Annual Chandler C3HR Mariachi Festival

The Chandler Coalition for Civil and Human Rights (C3HR) produces the annual Chandler Mariachi Festival. This year's festival is in tribute to the lives of C3HR's founding members Mr. Joe Garcia & Mr. Eddie Encinas who both passed away earlier this year.

Chandler Mariachi Workshops
October 3-4, 2013 -- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
October 5, 2013 -- 9 a.m. to noon
Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave.

As part of the Chandler C3HR Mariachi Festival tradition, workshops will provide young mariachi students the opportunity to learn more about Mariachi as a performer and entertainer.  Instructors will show concepts of musicality, tradition, confidence, and respect.  Classes will be separated by instrument and all students will take a voice session as well.  We hope to see you all with us!!

Mariachi Flores Mexicanas are the featured instructors, along side other experienced local Mariachis.

There will be a registration fee of $20 if you are only taking the workshops.  If you plan to participate in the competition, the group fee covers the workshop fee.  Final registration date is August 5, 2013.  Final refund date is August 26, 2013.  Workshops accept participants of all ages and will be broken up by skill level, based on years of experience.

Ballet FolkloricoCelebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ & Chandler Fashion Center!
Sunday, October 13 - 1 p.m.

Join Chandler Fashion Center & Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Gap Wing to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.  Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ will take the audience on a colorful, vibrant and educational journey to experience the music, costumes and dances of several states of Mexico including Veracruz, Sinaloa, Chiapas, Guerrero and Jalisco!
