Acts of Kindness Program
Chandler's Acts of Kindness ProgramInside your Chandler utility bill you will find a convenient way to help people in need in the community!
The Chandler Acts of Kindness donation program, or A-OK for short, was developed in July 2000 to give residents an opportunity to voluntarily contribute with their utility payment each month. The contributions collected go back into the community through a grant process to support a variety of human service programs who provide basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, medical services and transportation to low income Chandler residents.
Thanks to the generosity of the community, the Acts of Kindness program continues to be a success. Every cent of donations collected is put right back into the community to help individuals and families in need. We appreciate you helping to make the lives of your neighbors a little better.
Since the program began in 2000, A-OK has allocated 100% of donations received back into the community, for a total of $715,734.

For Fiscal Year 2013-14, the City of Chandler granted $60,178 to five non-profits who provide vital services to low-income Chandler residents.  The breakdown is as follows:

Chandler Christian Community Center   $30,000
Friends of the Chandler Public Library, Adult Literacy and the Job Center   $ 10,000
National Advocacy and Training Center for the SEEDs Program   $ 11,928
Recreation and Athletics for the Disabled (RAD) for the Chandler Referral Service   $   8,250
TOTAL  A-OK Program Funds   $ 60,178
