Notice of Proposed Increase in Fees and/or Public Hearings

The City of Chandler is proposing changes to the requirements and fee structure for Mobile Food Units.  The proposed City Code changes were tentatively scheduled to be brought forward at the September 24, 2015 City Council meeting, but additional stakeholder feedback was requested. The proposed City Code changes will now be brought forward at the October 22, 2015 City Council meeting.  At the October 22, 2015 City Council meeting, Council will consider a new City Code section, Chapter 21 Mobile Food Units, which intends to define how mobile food units can conduct business in the City.  The changes would exclude Mobile Food Units from the current fees and regulations as defined in Chapter 20, Transient Merchant, Peddlers, Canvassers, and Solicitors, and replace them with less restrictive and lower cost fees as defined by the new Chapter 21. Discussion on desired City Code changes regarding Mobile Food Units has taken place with stakeholders including the Phoenix Street Food Coalition, food truck owners, other business owners, and various City departments to create a more business friendly City Code section based on changes in the industry.  A council sub-committee meeting was held, and the information provided during that meeting can be reviewed by clicking here.  Also, a Chamber business meeting and a public meeting in the Chandler City Council Chambers was held.
There will be a citizen stakeholder meeting in September as well as another council sub-committee meeting prior to the proposed ordinance coming forward at the October 22, 2015 City Council meeting. Proposed valet parking zone locations in Downtown Chandler (area bounded by Chandler Boulevard, Dakota Street, Frye Road and

The Chandler City Council will be conducting a public hearing on July 9, 2015, to discuss Proposed Wastewater, Reclaimed Water,
and Solid Waste Rate Increases and Converting Winter/Summer Water and Reclaimed Rates to Year-Round Rates.  The proposed
rate increases are nine percent for Wastewater, 18 percent for Reclaimed Water, and six percent for Solid Waste services.  See the
