Changes to parking options
The face of downtown Chandler is changing to make way for infrastructure improvements, new development and businesses. Starting later this fall, visitors will no longer be able to park on the southwest corner of Arizona Avenue and Chandler Boulevard. After the first of the year, there will be limited parking on Arizona Avenue, directly across from City Hall. Please visit this website for updates or connect with the City on Facebook and Twitter

Construction on these sites will begin shortly and the areas will be fenced off. Downtown visitors and employees may park in the following areas FREE of charge.  

Free Public Parking Garages:
•    City of Chandler, City Hall parking garage
•    Ports America parking garage, only after 5 p.m. during the week and all day on weekends
•    First Credit Union parking garage, only after 5 p.m. during the week and all day on weekends 

While construction is happening in the downtown area, the City also has arranged for free, temporary surface parking:
•    Between Oregon and Dakota streets, south of Chandler Boulevard 
•    Southeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Buffalo Street

In 2014, Downtown Chandler was designated as an Entertainment District by the City Council. In addition to restaurants, bars and the Improv Mania, a development agreement is in the works to develop an all-new mixed use project on the southwest corner of Arizona Avenue and Chandler Boulevard. Art Walk
Every third Friday from 6-10 p.m., downtown Chandler welcomes 50 local artists to the A.J. Chandler Park West for the Downtown Chandler Art Walk. Come browse the different types of art available and mingle with residents. 


Farmers Market
Get your fresh produce, tasty treats and more at the Chandler Farmers Market every Thursday from 3-7 p.m., in Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, 3 S. Arizona Ave. It's located between Boston and Buffalo streets under the blue ramadas.




Cultural Affairs
The City’s Cultural Affairs Division oversees the management and operations of the Chandler Center for the Arts, Vision Gallery, Libraries and Museum facilities. Each area offers variety of services, programs, activities and special events on a year-round basis. The City Museum also will feature a rotating display at the San Marcos Hotel.

History of A.J. Chandler Park and our City
This park is at the heart of the original town square designed by city founder Dr. A.J. Chandler. It is surrounded by small shops, galleries, restaurants, office buildings, and the historic San Marcos Resort. The park remains a community gathering place and hosts many special events throughout the year.



Downtown Chandler Community Partnership
The City of Chandler partners with DCCP, a 501(c) 6 not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to mobilize leadership and resources to advance the development of downtown Chandler as a regional destination for shopping, dining, living, culture and the arts. It works on behalf of the Enhanced Municipal District, created in 2006, to provide enhanced marketing and promotion, safety and beautification of the downtown area beyond what is done by the City of Chandler and downtown merchants. 

The District is bordered on the north by Chandler Blvd; the south by Frye Road; the east by Delaware St.; and the west through Dakota, California and Oregon Streets. Visit the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership today to explore events, shops and much, much more!

There are several water and sewer infrastructure improvement projects taking place in the downtown area through May 2016. These improvements are needed to replace aging infrastructure to accommodate future downtown growth. View a map that highlights when and where the activity is taking place.

Multi-Family

Alta Steelyard Lofts is the newest apartment community in downtown Chandler with an urban, upscale vibe. Located near Arizona Avenue and Frye Road, the 300-unit complex incorporates the City’s history and industrial feel in its décor.

A mixed-use residential and commercial development called DC Heights, will be located at the southwest corner of Commonwealth Avenue and California Street. This project will be home to 250 new apartments and some retail.



Entertainment

Crust Pizza is now located at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos in downtown Chandler. Stop by this delicious restaurant for lunch, happy hour or dinner. Sneak below Crust in the evening and enjoy the newly opened The Ostrich, a speakeasy-style basement lounge.

The Brickyard Downtown, an upscale and contemporary restaurant and bar, located at 85 W. Boston.
