Nov. 16, 2009 Apache Attack Helicopters and WWII aircraft on display at “Chandler Airport Dayz” CHANDLER, Ariz. – Military aircraft from the Arizona National Guard and the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force will be featured attractions at the City’s Municipal Airport the weekend of November 21-22 during “Chandler Airport Dayz.” Chandler Air Service, a leading flight school located at the airport, will host the event at their facilities at 1675 E. Ryan Road. Two Apache attack helicopters, a WWII B-25 bomber and a WWII SNJ trainer aircraft will be on display, along with other unique aircraft. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 21, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 22. Other aircraft on display will include a “Red Bull” race plane, plus Cessnas, Pipers, Beechcraft, Stearmans, a Gyro Copter and experimental aircraft. Rides in the SNJ trainer and other aircraft will be on sale and the popular Hanger Café with views of the runways will be open for dining. Chandler Air Service, the Chandler Airport Alliance, and the Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing, organized the event to honor America’s war veterans and to educate the public about the types of aircraft and businesses that operate at the City’s airport.
