The purpose of the program is to reduce the discharge of potentially toxic pollutants into the municipal sewer system, and thereby, reduce the amount of pollutants released into the environment. In 2008, Chandler’s Industrial Pretreatment Program was recognized by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality for its excellence and was nominated for the National Pretreatment Program Excellence Award.
