Sealant to be applied to portions of Warner, Ray, McQueen and Cooper roads
Beginning Thursday May 10 and continuing through the end of the month, portions of several major City streets will be resurfaced with a micro-sealant to increase their longevity.
Micro seal is an asphalt emulsion with aggregate a quarter-inch thick and is used on arterial and collector streets. It is designed to wear off and protect the original asphalt pavement.
The major arterial streets to be sealed under the program are:
All streets will remain open to traffic during the work, but lane restrictions will occur. The streets were previously crack sealed in preparation for the micro sealing. Crack seal is a liquefied asphalt that is applied to cracked pavement.
May 10 and 11: McQueen Road between Ray Road and Chandler Blvd.
May 14 and 15: Warner Road between Arizona Avenue and McQueen Road.
May 16 and 17: Ray Road between Arizona Avenue and McQueen Road.
May 18 to 21: McQueen Road between Warner Road and Ray Road.
May 22 and 23: Cooper Road between Ray Road and the City’s northern border with the Town of Gilbert at the Kent Street alignment.
May 24 to 29: Ray Road from just east of the Price Loop 101 Freeway to Dobson Road.
