Vendors and entertainers needed for Chandler Indian Art Market
Vendors, entertainers and sponsors are being sought for Chandler’s 4th Annual Indian Art Market to be held on the grounds of A.J. Chandler Park in downtown Chandler the weekend of October 12-14.
“This event has grown bigger and better each year and we again are looking for the region’s best Native American entertainers, demonstrators and food, jewelry and craft vendors,” said Niki Tapia, a Community Resource Coordinator with the City’s Neighborhood Resources Division.
Vendors are encouraged to submit their applications early by filling out the online form at www.chandleraz.gov/indianaz or contacting Niki Tapia at 480-782-2214 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Vendors submitting their applications by August 3 will receive a reduced booth rental fee and have their artwork showcased on the City’s website.
Also being sought are local bands and Indian dance groups available to perform one or more days. Performers should call 480-782-2214 for more information, as should organizations or companies interested in helping sponsor the event. Five levels of sponsorships are available, ranging from $100 to $5,000.
The Indian Art Market will run from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 14. It will feature both traditional and contemporary works of art, including jewelry, ceramics, clothing, sculptures, Katsina carvings, photography, paintings, native food and tribal arts & crafts.
The event is being held in conjunction with Native American Recognition Days and the Miss Indian Arizona Scholarship Program to be held at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, October 13 at the Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Avenue.
