Enter Chandler Recreation’s Nature Photo Contest

Each year, photographers from around the Chandler area are invited to focus their lenses on nature and then enter their photographs in the City’s annual Nature Photo Contest organized by Chandler’s Recreation Division.

In its seventh year, the contest has resulted in some magnificent images captured from around the community. Entries are being accepted now through Feb. 28, 2018, in two categories: What You See Is What You Get (no alterations) and Digitally Enhanced (artistic alterations encouraged). Ribbons will be awarded in two age groups; 13 and under and 14 and over.

Photo entries must come from a Chandler park, program or event and can be submitted digitally online at chandleraz.gov/naturephotocontest, or in person at the Environmental Education Center (EEC), 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road.

“We know that residents take amazing pictures at our parks and we want to celebrate nature by offering this fun contest,” said Dexter Belling, the recreation coordinator organizing the contest. “The photo can be taken with a quality camera or even with a simple smart phone. The point is to capture those meaningful moments and share it with others.”

Winning entries will be displayed in the ECC lobby with a blue ribbon affixed next March to the winning images in each category. For more information, call 480-782-2890.
