Chandler arterials to be slurry sealed

Segments of six major Chandler streets will be slurry sealed to prolong their life beginning the week of May 15, and concluding at the end of the month.

Slurry seal is an asphalt emulsion mixed with aggregate that corrects surface irregularities, improves skid resistance and protects the pavement from oxidation and water damage. The coating will be applied to the following street segments:

--  McClintock Drive between Chandler Boulevard and the Loop 202 Santan Freeway
--  McQueen Road between Riggs Road and Westchester Drive
--  Lindsay Road between Riggs and Hunt Highway
--  Val Vista Drive between Riggs and Hunt Highway
--  Riggs between Cooper and McQueen roads
--  Willis Road between Alma School and Hamilton Street

All streets will remain open to traffic during the work, but lane restrictions will occur. A map showing the locations of the pavement maintenance projects can be found by clicking on the Road Construction & Street Closures link on the Transportation page of the City’s website, www.chandleraz.gov/transportation
