Chandler continued to be recognized as one of the safest cities in America as serious crime fell another 6.8 percent in 2018. And with at least one neighborhood park in every square mile of residential development, it is also one of the most beautiful.
It all starts with the residents. When committed residents offer ideas on safety and renovation projects, the City listens and takes action. Into the future, Chandler will continue to put an enhanced emphasis on community-backed public safety and beautification efforts, ensuring residents will love to be here for decades to come.
Reimagining Neighborhood Parks:
Ninja Warrior Style
Meadowbrook Park, informally referred to as the “ninja park,” features two obstacle courses modeled after the reality television show “American Ninja Warrior.” On one side of the course is equipment designed for children and people with basic fitness ability. Across the path is an obstacle course for adults.
ChangeUp: Innovation Through Action and Compassion
When faced with the question of how to handle those who are panhandling, the City decided to frame the issue differently. Rather than going after people asking for money, the City worked with the nonprofit For Our City-Chandler to find a better way to meet the needs of the community.
