CHANDLER, Ariz. – Chandler City Manager Marsha Reed announced that Andrew Bass has been selected as the City’s Community Services Director. He will be responsible for Chandler’s park development, operations and maintenance as well as its recreation, aquatics and library facilities and programs.
“Andy is passionate about providing programs and facilities that promote healthy lifestyles and strengthen relationships in the community,” Reed said. “His unique experiences and leadership in parks and recreation administration will help the department deliver results that benefit Chandler residents.”
Bass has worked at the City of Reno, Nevada, for the past seven years, serving most recently as its director of parks, recreation and community services. He has more than 15 years of experience administering parks and recreation programs for municipalities in Nevada, Texas and Colorado.
Bass graduated from the University of Colorado with a Master’s degree in business administration and the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology.
He will begin his new post on July 29, 2019.
The Community Services Department develops, operates and maintains more than 60 parks, a dozen recreation and aquatic centers and all four branches of the Chandler Public Library. It administers the City’s park, recreation and library programs and services to enhance the quality of life for Chandler residents.
