Entries are now being accepted for the City’s 24th annual Creative Expression Competition. Local students living or attending school in Chandler can vie for awards in two categories: Writing and Visual Arts. Eligible grade levels are from kindergarten to grade 12.
This year’s theme is “One World, Out of Many, We Are One.” Entry forms along with competition information, submission guidelines and judging criteria are online. Prizes will be awarded to the top three place winners in three age groups: K-4, 5-8, 9-12.
Completed entries may be mailed or dropped-off to the City of Chandler – Neighborhood Resources Department, 235 S. Arizona Ave., Chandler, AZ 85225. The deadline to submit an entry is Friday, Nov. 29. Competition finalists will be announced later this year and winners will be named at the 25th annual Chandler Multicultural Festival on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, and recognized at a City Council meeting in February 2020.
In addition, Chandler Sister Cities is conducting a writing and visual art competition for Chandler students, ages 13-18. Semifinalists of the Creative Expression Competition will automatically have their entries submitted into the Sister Cities’ competition. Visit Chandler Sister Cities for more information.
