For more than 40 years, the Friends, a nonprofit organization made up of dedicated volunteer library advocates, have been able to provide annual sponsorship to fund important initiatives at Chandler Public Library. This support comes from direct donations, workplace giving contributions, proceeds from used book sales, and legacy and corporate gifts.
Bob Lowry, the President of the Friends Board, expresses gratitude to the community for their generous support and vote of confidence in recognizing the value of the Friends Board's impact on the Library. “We are grateful every year for our community and corporate donors as they understand how important Chandler Public Library is in creating welcoming spaces for all to read, learn, gather and grow. We intend to honor them by creating even more innovative learning opportunities and enhanced services to benefit the entire Chandler community.”
Funding includes enhancing digital resources like PressReader, expanding signature programs such as Storywalk®, Our Stories, Summer Reading Challenge, and Read to Succeed, and strengthening Adult Literacy and Early Literacy outreach, and so much more.
“As the center for lifelong learning in Chandler, our facilities provide free access to a world of ideas and imagination through educational and informational programs,” says Library Manager Rachelle Kuzyk. “We are very grateful for this gift and for the donors that make it possible. These additional funds allow the Library to enhance programs and services that foster strong literacy skills, build and support our community and create opportunities for all.”
The Friends gift is an auspicious beginning to the new fiscal year and the Library’s exciting initiatives.
