Creature A Day exhibit opens Nov. 9 at Chandler's Vision Gallery
Artistic creatures of Josiah Copley to be featured
Starting Nov. 9, 2017, Vision Gallery in Downtown Chandler presents Josiah Copley: Creature A Day, an exhibit of drawings inspired by Japanese kaiju toys, cartoons and video games. Creature A Day includes some of the wildest, weirdest creatures, robots, monsters and aliens he could imagine every day for more than two and a half years. It will be on display through Jan. 5, 2018.
"Josiah's drawings are light-hearted and fun, making this an exhibition the entire family can enjoy," says Peter Bugg, visual arts coordinator at Vision Gallery. "When you see the images Josiah dreams up, it's not surprising that he also helps other artists realize their dreams as a consultant at Chandler's TechShop," continues Bugg. TechShop Chandler is an open-access, do-it-yourself workshop and fabrication studio where entrepreneurs, artists, makers, teachers, and students come together to learn and work together.
The public is invited to attend a free artist reception with Josiah Copley from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Vision Gallery, 10 E. Chicago St.
Located within the Chandler City Hall complex, Vision Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit visiongallery.org for more information about the gallery and this exhibit.
