April 16, 2018

Chandler’s popular outdoor movie experience, Cinepark, returns to Tumbleweed Park with big screen movies, amazing activities and tasty food trucks.

Pack a picnic, grab a blanket and get ready to watch some of your favorite films on a 30-foot-tall screen with state-of-the-art sound system. The movies Coco, Hotel Transylvania 2, and Despicable Me 3, will be shown at dusk (8 p.m.) in the park’s amphitheater on three consecutive Friday evenings, May 4, 11 and 18.

Pre-movie seating opens at 6:30 p.m. and moviegoers can enjoy a variety of free entertainment inspired by the movies being shown. There will be photo booth character cutouts, obstacle courses, face painting and Folklorico dance lessons.

Participants also can make their own movie souvenir, including Minion slime and musical tambourines. Activities vary depending on the movie. Snacks will be available for purchase (cash only), courtesy of local vendors.

Tumbleweed Park is located at 2250 S. McQueen Road, with parking nearest the movies located at the park’s south end. CinePark is presented by the City of Chandler and community partners; Chandler YMCA, Sparkling Ice and Oriental Trading.
