Exposures: An Exhibition of Textile Arts
Juried collection of art quilts from Arizona artists on display at Vision Gallery and Chandler Center for the Arts gallery in Downtown Chandler
The Chandler Arts Commission and Chandler Cultural Foundation present, Exposures: An Exhibition of Textile Arts, a textile-based art exhibit that will be on display at both the Chandler Center for the Arts gallery and the Vision Gallery in Downtown Chandler, June 9 - Aug. 26, 2017. The exhibit features artworks by 27 Arizona members of the national nonprofit Studio Art Quilt Association (SAQA).
"Exposures will feature a wide variety of both figurative and abstract quilts, ranging in both theme and tone. These quilts feature themes such as geography, societal issues, and local inspiration," says Peter Bugg, Visual Arts Coordinator at Vision Gallery.
Opening receptions will be held concurrently at the Vision Gallery and the Chandler Center for the Arts from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 10. The exhibit pieces were selected through a jury process led by Phoenix-based artist Ann Morton, who will give a talk about the exhibit and art quilts at 3 p.m. that day at the Center for the Arts Gallery.
Vision Gallery is located at 10 E. Chicago St., in the Chandler City Hall complex. It is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Chandler Center for the Arts Gallery is located at 250 N. Arizona Ave., and it is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.
