Fall Into Fun at the Chandler Public Library

Halloween at the Library

Cooler fall temperatures in the Valley of the Sun bring mental images of shorter days, leaves changing colors and anticipation of Halloween. Throughout October, the Chandler Public Library has scheduled events and programs for all ages and celebrating goblins, ghouls, costumes and the imagination.

For fans of scary movies, the Downtown Library will host a Horror Film Fest for adults on four consecutive Wednesday evenings starting Oct. 3, with the “Night of the Living Dead” from 6-8 p.m. The other films in the series are “Black Christmas” (Oct. 10), “Suspira” (Oct. 17) and “The Fly” (Oct. 24).

On Saturday, Oct. 6, Late Night Recess for adults returns to Hamilton Library with a mystery game of Murder Under the Big Top from 7-10 p.m.

Chandler teenagers can enjoy the following events: Escape Through the Phantom Tollbooth, 4-7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Basha Library; HalloTEEN Spectacular: Cupcake Decoration, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Downtown Library; Create Your Own Frankentoy!, 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at Hamilton Library; and HalloTEEN Spectacular: and a Costume Show, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at Downtown Library.

Young children and parents can enjoy the following kids programs: Pumpkin Art, 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 4 at Hamilton Library; 2nd Annual Fairytale Ball, 6-8 p.m. Oct. 12 at Downtown Library; Trick or Treat @ Basha, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at Basha Library; and Family Storytime – Halloween Fun, 6:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Sunset Library.
