The Chandler City Council met at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, and took action on seven consent agenda items.
Thursday’s meeting also was the last Council meeting with Jay Tibshraeny as Mayor. Mayor Tibshraeny was presented with an honorary resolution from the Council and a commendation from Governor Doug Ducey for his 24 years of outstanding service to the City of Chandler and its residents. Mayor Tibshraeny also was presented with gifts of appreciation from his fellow Councilmembers and City Manager Marsha Reed.
After the meeting adjourned, newly elected Mayor Kevin Hartke and Councilmembers René Lopez, Terry Roe and Matt Orlando were sworn in.
The new Council, led by Mayor Hartke, took action on one item, electing Terry Roe as vice mayor to serve a one-year term from Jan. 11, through Jan. 9, 2020.
