More than 1,000 volunteers expected for Live Love Day
More than 1,000 volunteers are expected to roll up their sleeves and take on various neighborhood beautification projects on Saturday, April 21, as part of Live Love Day in Chandler.
Live Love Day was started in 2007 as a collaboration between the City’s Neighborhood Programs Division and Live Love, Inc., a non-profit organization working to build relationships and trust in neighborhoods through ongoing, caring interactions that encourage residents to take pride in their communities and to work within their neighborhoods to help one another.
This year’s participants will perform cleanup efforts in several of the City’s older neighborhoods, including Pamela Park, Orangetree, Silk Stocking, Amberwood, Galveston, San Mateo Estates, and in the central downtown area.
The neighborhood cleanups will begin at 7 a.m. and run through noon and include painting and front yard landscaping for owner occupied homes, plus alley cleanups, minor home repairs, and other community building projects.
Many of the neighborhood volunteers will also be participating in Let’s Pull Together, a community weed-pulling effort organized by the City’s Neighborhood Programs office and For Our City-Chandler.
Project materials are being provided through various sponsorships and donations and volunteers are asked to pre-register for the event. Upon registration, the volunteers will be sent an email with their check-in station location and assignment for that day.
