Mayor Welcomes Relay for Life to Chandler
Participants walk all night because cancer never sleeps.

CHANDLER, Ariz. ---Mayor Jay Tibshraeny has been named Honorary Chair of Relay for Life, an upcoming event to raise money in the fight against cancer. Relay for Life is an all-night team walk to raise money beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, May 11 and running through 6 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at Basha High School, 5990 S. Val Vista Drive. 
Mayor Tibshraeny will make opening remarks before the event begins with its traditional Survivor Walk.  During the survivor walk, cancer survivors take the first lap around the track while being cheered on by supporters and walk participants. 
This annual event is an official Chandler Centennial event, and anyone who commits to walking 50 laps will receive a certificate from the Mayor, and those who walk 100 laps will also receive a Centennial pin.
