Tumbleweed Recreation Center to host fitness expo on August 7 to showcase fall classes
Chandler’s Tumbleweed Recreation Center (TRC) will host a free expo from 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, to showcase the variety of recreation and exercise classes offered at the center this fall. Immediately following the expo, attendees are invited to participate in a free “Courtyard Yoga” class from 7 to 8 p.m., as the TRC staff attempts to host the largest group exercise class since the facility opened in 2008.
The TRC expo is open to the public and will feature Chandler Recreation instructors demonstrating their classes and activities in the Tumbleweed Recreation Center courtyard. Classes are available for people of all ages and abilities, and visitors can meet the instructors and ask questions.
Expo attendees can also participate in a 30-minute group exercise class demonstration that will highlight the fitness programs available from September through November. The exercise demos will be held in the Cotton Room, just west of the courtyard, at 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m.
Light and healthy refreshments will be available, and first-time customers can sign up for a free one-week fitness pass to the TRC. Mats will be provided for the courtyard yoga class.
All of the City’s leisure and lifestyle classes are listed in the fall issue of the Break Time magazine, which is available at City recreation centers and libraries, and online at www.chandleraz.gov/breaktime. Class registration opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 4 for Chandler residents, and at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 10 for non-residents.
