Liberty Wildlife HawkThe Environmental Education Center (EEC) at Veterans Oasis Park will host a combined Earth Day and Arbor Day celebration from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014.
This free, family-friendly event – which is also a celebration of the EEC’s six-year anniversary – will include live animal presentations, craft activities, food and beverage vendors, and information booths featuring a variety of organizations and businesses promoting “green” products, conservation and ways to live a more eco-friendly, sustainable lifestyle.
Inside the EEC, visitors can view photographs submitted for the Center’s 3rd Annual Nature Photo Competition and vote for a People’s Choice award winner. There will also be an awards and recognition ceremony for the winners of the photo competition.
The EEC, located at 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road, just east of Lindsay Road, hosts programs, classes and workshops for children and adults. It is open six days a week: Monday thru Thursday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The EEC is closed on Sundays and on City of Chandler holidays.
