CinePark outdoor movie series debuts in May

Exciting news movie lovers; locals can enjoy a series of flicks al fresco this spring as the City debuts it’s first-ever movies in the park this May! Enjoy a night out watching the stars under the stars by taking in a movie at Tumbleweed Park.

Pack a picnic, grab a blanket and get ready to watch some of your favorite family films on a big, outdoor screen being erected in the park’s amphitheater on three consecutive Friday evenings: May 6, 13 and 20.

“Each Friday night gives families and friends the chance to gather as a community and take in a free movie outdoors during those perfect Chandler evenings,” said event coordinator, Stephanie Feldaverd.

The movies will begin at dusk (8 p.m.) and include the popular Inside Out, Goosebumps and Minions. Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive early to stake out their viewing spot and partake in thematic activities and games inspired by each movie.

Beginning at 6 p.m., and depending on the movie being shown, kids and adults alike will be able to enjoy photo booth character cutouts, an inflatable maze, a life-sized Twister game, plus Minion bowling. Movie watchers can also make their own movie souvenir, including slimy goo and Minion masks.

No movie is complete without snacks. Guests can purchase snacks (cash only) courtesy of local vendors, including What’s Poppin Kettle Korn, Burgers Amore and CA Snowie. The Mayor’s Youth Commission will also be on hand helping moviegoers light the night with purchasable glow items.
