Once again, all K-12 schools in the city's boundaries are welcome to participate in the Annual Chandler Innovation Fair Competition. Six winning teams will be awarded a $500 prize that will be presented to their school’s science club or program for the most educational, most creative and most passionate projects.

Congratulations to the following winners of the 2024 Chandler Innovation Fair science competition:

High School Category

Arizona College Prep High School (tie)

The Arizona College Prep High School booth was a display to true STEAM promotion that included Science and Innovation projects, a NASA ambassador display, a reptile petting exhibit, HOSA activities from the student group HOSA, an art and ceramics display and a much sought after egg drop contest.

Hamilton High School STEM Club (tie)

Hamilton High School STEM Club used balloons, fur, silk, rubber rods, glass rods, paper and aluminum and an electroscope to have participants investigate the variables that influenced static electricity and the attraction/repulsion of objects after electrons move from one object to another.

Valley Christian High School (tie)

The Valley Christian High School exhibit featured an interactive display of technology using three robots they designed, built, and programmed. They showcased the FIRST Robotics program, whose mission is to promote STEM to our community, by demonstrating features of the robots and letting the audience drive them. They also discussed the engineering process with spectators and encouraged youth to continue developing their existing talents and embrace new challenges through STEM.

Junior High Category

Santan Junior High

Santan Jr. High Jaguar’s booth included an art station for students to create artwork through chemical reactions, microscopes to view a variety of organisms, robots from our robotics club, and a large track to race pinewood derby cars.

Willis Junior High

Willis Jr. High had several displays of student’s science fair project boards from experiments they completed during the school year, but the focus of their booth was on the physical and chemical changes that create slime. The students took the helm at the demonstration booth by helping visitors create their own slime, describing the process, and explaining the interaction of the materials that make the slime slimy!

Elementary School Category

Bolonga Elementary

Rudy G. Bologna Elementary School “Scorpions” showed off their Lego models and engineering knowledge.  attendees who visited the Scorpions' booth were able to choose their favorite color to make slime!  While other visitors created parachutes for their favorite animal or pipe cleaner figure

Rice Elementary

At the Chandler Innovation Fair, Rice Elementary’s booth reflected their school’s focus on sustainability. They had a make-and-take Egg Head project that the community could participate in along with worms from our school garden for everyone to learn more about.
