On Friday, Jan. 14, I hosted the Martin Luther King Jr., Keeping the Dream Alive Award Ceremony to honor Chandler community members and leaders who have helped to move the Chandler community forward. The individuals I recognized have made it their mission to inspire others with their vision, passion, dedication, and leadership in our community. I was honored to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Chandler’s long-time community leader and advocate, Pastor Victor Hardy. And I thought, what better way to get to know this amazing community leader than a quick Q&A?
- How long have you lived in Chandler?
I have lived in Chandler since 1999.
- What do you think is your biggest accomplishment?
I think my biggest accomplishment is bringing The Chandler Men of Action into existence. The City of Chandler helped in getting this organization set up and creating the African American Banquet.
- How long have you been involved in the Chandler City Council meetings?
I started doing the city council meetings since Mayor Tibshraeny’s administration.
- How long have you been a pastor?
I have been a Pastor at the Congregational Church of the Valley for the past 6 years.
- What does it mean to you to have received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Councilmember Harris?
I was very humbled by this award. I did not know that it has been a lifetime. I thank God for all He has given me and my family for supporting me.
Thank you, Pastor Hardy for all you do for the Chandler community!
