Donations

Acts of Kindness, or “A-OK” is a voluntary tax-deductible donation program developed to give residents an easy way to voluntarily contribute $1, $2, $5 or any amount with their utility bill each month. The money raised through the program goes back into the community by helping fund local social service agencies.

The new utility billing & payment system has expanded the A-OK donation amount options for customers, and there are several ways donate in any amount.

How to make an A-OK Donation

The easiest way to make a donation is to set up a recurring donation -- $1, $2, $5 or you can opt for any fixed amount you would like -- that would always be added to your monthly billing statement. With a recurring donation, no matter how you pay the donation will be made by simply paying your current balance (which will include the donation amount). To set up a recurring donation you need to notify us -- either via email, by calling 480-782-2280, or you can visit us at Chandler City Hall, 175 S. Arizona Ave -- and indicate the donation amount you would like added to your bill each month.

You can also do one of the following to make a donation:

  1. In-person payment: Visit the Customer Service Center in City Hall to make an A-OK donation in any amount.
  2. Pay by check: Select one of the check boxes on your utility bill remittance slip and add the corresponding donation amount to your payment.
  3. Online bank payment: If you pay your utility bill through an online banking system, you can add $1, $2, or $5 to your balance and the additional amount will be automatically applied to the A-OK program.
  4. Online one-time payment: If you pay your utility bill online at chandleraz.gov, you can add $1, $2, or $5 to your balance and the additional amount will be automatically applied to the A-OK program.

If you have questions as to how or why a donation was credited to your account, please call 480-782-2280, or send an email to Utility Billing.

Payment Options

There are several ways to pay your utility bill:

Set up the payment through your financial institution’s online banking system. Use the following format in the payee account field provided by the bank:

Account Number followed by a dash followed by your Customer Number.
For example: 12345678-87654321

Make a one-time payment with a major credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal products, Venmo (for mobile payments only), or e-check. This can be done whether or not you have registered and created a customer profile.

Sign up for AutoPay, which authorizes the City and your financial institution to handle the transaction for you through an automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account, or with a major credit card. This can be done by logging in to your online account.
