The community should immediately recognize communications and marketing materials from the City of Chandler. That is why brand standards are so important. A brand is more than the logo. It is also the photography, graphics, colors, copy and talking points that represent the identity and personality of the City of Chandler. Consistently using the brand standards will protect the city’s image and help Team Chandler effectively communicate to our audiences. The current standards were updated in 2022 and replace all previous brand standards and guidelines.
The city’s brand standards are set and maintained by the Communications and Public Affairs Department. The current brand standards have been presented to all departments and reviewed and approved by the City Manager. All City of Chandler departments, divisions and employees are responsible for applying the brand standards to communications and marketing tools, including printed pieces and digital assets.
The new standards also include a messaging lexicon for copywriting. This document is a starting place for departments to identify who their audience is and review the tone of the message being communicated to that audience. The words and phrases described in the messaging is meant to be a guide, not an outline of words that must be incorporated.
Any questions about these standards should be directed to Toni Smith, Communications Manager, 480-782-2701.
