Pine Shadows Park was built in the early 1990’s as a neighborhood park, and a place for residents to play, relax, and visit with neighbors, friends, and family.

Pine Shadows Park Improvements:
The City of Chandler is planning improvements/upgrades to Pine Shadows Park, located at 5300 W. Galveston Street.
As the city looks to make improvements to the park, a survey was available in October/November 2022 seeking input from nearby residents.
The survey results based on 119 respondents indicated over 80% visited the park more than once a month. The most used amenities were the walking path, the open space turf, the playground, and the picnic tables/seating areas. The most important aspects of the park were 1) feeling safe; 2) that the park is clean & well maintained; 3) the playground equipment; 4) the walking path; 5) good lighting and exposure; and 6) trees and landscaping.
While the addition of a lighted basketball court was an option, after careful consideration, due to its close proximity to adjacent houses and related noise impacts, a basketball court will not be installed at Pine Shadows Park with this project.
Improvements, which are currently scheduled to begin in early 2024, will still include:
- Turf & Irrigation Improvements
- New trees and shrubs
- ADA Improvements including sidewalks
- Lighting Upgrade to LED
- Sand Volleyball Court Improvements (new sand, net, and poles)
- Enhanced Park Entry
- New Site Furnishings (e.g., benches, picnic tables, trash receptacles, drinking fountain, BBQ grill, etc.)
