CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Chandler City Council voted unanimously during its Jan. 8 meeting to select Councilmember Angel Encinas as the city’s vice mayor. Encinas will serve in the position through Jan. 14, 2027.
“This role as vice mayor is especially meaningful because this city is my home,” said Encinas as he thanked the City Council and his family and friends for their support. “This community has shaped who I am and everything I care about is rooted right here. This is where my story began and it’s where I have chosen to invest my time, my energy and my heart.”
Encinas is serving his first term on the Chandler City Council, which began in January 2023. He represents Chandler on the Phoenix East Valley Partnership Board of Directors and the Chandler Chamber of Commerce Education and Workforce Committee. He also is a board member of the Livwell Foundation, a local nonprofit.
Encinas was raised in the heart of Downtown Chandler, where he continues to live to his day. He manages an immigration consulting firm and also is a realtor. He is a product of Chandler public schools and a graduate of Chandler High School. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Arizona State University with a minor in sustainability.
