CHANDLER, Ariz. — Chandler Municipal Court proudly welcomed students from Arizona College Prep Middle School for an immersive educational experience focused on the rule of law and the vital role of the justice system in the community.
As part of the May 1 (Law Day) visit, students engaged in a series of interactive activities designed to deepen their understanding of the judiciary and its justice partners. The program featured:
- Educational videos highlighting the principles of a fair and impartial judiciary and rule of law.
- Presentations from Chandler’s justice partners—including representatives from the Law Department, Chandler Police, the City Prosecutor’s Office, and Defense Counsel, followed by student‑led Q&A sessions about their roles and responsibilities.
- Meet-and-greet with Presiding Judge Alicia Skupin and other Chandler Municipal Court judges and staff
- Tour of a courtroom to gain insight into court operations, court technology, and procedures.
The Court’s Law Day initiative aims to foster civic awareness, inspire the next generation, and offer students a firsthand look at how justice is administered in their local community. “Providing students with the opportunity to connect directly with members of the justice system is an important step in building understanding, trust, and appreciation for the rule of law,” said Presiding Judge Skupin. “We are grateful to Arizona College Prep Middle School for its partnership in supporting this educational mission.”
