CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Chandler City Council recently approved two agreements for tenant improvements for the Boys and Girls Club. A professional services agreement was awarded to Kitchell/CEM, Inc. for construction management services and a construction agreement was awarded to Chasse Building Team, Inc.
The city owns the facility and leases it to the Boys and Girls Club to provide a wide range of age-appropriate activities and programs for youth ages 5 to 18. The city covers the facility maintenance, custodial services and utility costs according to the lease agreement.
This renovation project aims to upgrade the Boys & Girls Club facility to better serve Chandler youth and enhance safety. The existing teen center will be remodeled, including the enclosure of the exterior patio to expand programming space tailored to teens. Additional safety improvements will include the creation of a separate lobby area for parents and visitors, and the remodeling of the conference room to allow for private meetings while maintaining visibility into the facility.
The renovation will also include Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades to both the interior and exterior, and the conversion of an existing shower room into an employee-only restroom.
