Voters elect a Mayor, three councilmembers and ratified the city’s General Plan Update
CHANDLER, Ariz. — Based on final official election results from the Maricopa County Election Department, the following candidates have been elected to serve on the Chandler City Council:
- Mayor-Elect Matt Orlando, 25,319 votes, 58.46%
- Councilmember Jane Poston (incumbent), 23,033 votes, 20.39%
- Councilmember Angel Encinas (incumbent), 22,527 votes, 19.94%
- Councilmember-Elect Cicely Rocha-Miller, 20,445 votes, 18.10%
In addition, Chandler voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 415 (General Plan Update) by 83.94% (32,446 votes). The ratified plan serves as Chandler’s official 10-year blueprint for land use, housing, transportation, economic development and more, providing a community-driven framework to guide responsible growth and redevelopment as the city continues to evolve. State law requires Arizona cities to maintain and update the plan every decade, helping ensure Chandler remains functional, livable and forward-thinking. View the document online at General Plan.
The final election results are posted on the Maricopa County Recorder’s website at Results.Maricopa.Vote. The election results were formally approved by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, and the Chandler City Council during the Aug. 10 Council meeting.
The newly elected Mayor and Councilmembers will take office after an installation ceremony held in early January 2027.
