CHANDLER, Ariz. – The City of Chandler’s Connection & Impact Division will host Noche Illuminada: A Tribute to César Chávez, an event honoring the life and legacy of César Chávez, on Friday, March 20 from 6-9 p.m. at the Chandler City Hall Courtyard, 175 S. Arizona Ave.

The cultural celebration brings together heritage, hope and the spirit of unity while featuring live performances, interactive art, cuisine and a hosted dinner. Tributes will be paid to Chávez and community members who carry his spirit forward.

Alberto Esparza will be honored for the positive impact he has made in the community. Esparza founded the Sí Se Puede Foundation in 1993 before retiring in 2021 to create the I Rise Foundation, where he serves as the president and CEO. The I Rise Foundation provides STEM and other educational programs to girls of color and Native American Youth and supports LGBTQ+ Initiatives.

The evening’s entertainment features Grupo Bella, a musical group fronted by Grammy Award-winning vocalist and Grammy-nominated composer Vanessa Ramirez. Ramirez describes the group as “a unique experience of blending the old Música De Raiz with new and fresh sounds that are inspired by our daily lives as young multicultural musicians in Los Angeles.”

Attire for the event is white cocktail. Registration is free but required. Priority will be given to those who reside in Chandler. Register online for Noche Illuminada.
