Chandler, Ariz. – Chandler Councilmember Jennifer Hawkins has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations Committee. She was elected to a one-year term to provide strategic direction and guidance for the committee’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities.
“This is one of NLC’s most comprehensive committees, covering everything from budgets to bonds to governance,” said Councilmember Hawkins. “I appreciate the opportunity to represent Chandler, share our perspective and help shape federal policy positions that can safeguard our community.”
NLC convenes leaders from around the U.S. to contribute to a federal advocacy strategy with the White House, Congress and federal agencies that advocates for strong and balanced financial policies and leverages intergovernmental relations to better meet local community needs.
Members play a key role in shaping policy positions as advocates who help policymakers in Washington D.C. understand the issues and challenges facing local communities like Chandler. For more information, visit the NLC Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations page.
Councilmember Hawkins began serving on the Chandler City Council in January 2025.
