CHANDLER, Ariz. – Tennessee-based Mechanical Keyboards, LLC, one of the largest providers of mechanical keyboards in the world, recently acquired a 74,000-square-foot flex industrial building in West Chandler’s thriving employment corridor. Approximately 40 employees will work at the facility located at 7300 W. Boston St., and will hold roles ranging from logistics, administration, customer service and software development. Mechanical Keyboards currently has one facility near Nashville and this new Chandler facility will serve the Western United States.

The building has nearly 33,000-square-feet of office space and more than 240 parking spaces. Outside of keyboard fulfillment and distribution, Mechanical Keyboards’ vision for the facility includes a showroom, office space for technology and entrepreneurial startups, tech event hosting and unique facilities to support esports athletes and content creators.

“We are very excited to activate this property in West Chandler and bring additional jobs to one of our largest employment corridors,” said Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke. “Mechanical Keyboards has told us that workforce and freeway access were determining factors in their location decision.”

Mechanical Keyboards, LLC, specializes in high-end keyboards that cater to gamers, tech professionals and a growing base of keyboard enthusiasts. Unlike their more common membrane counterparts, mechanical keyboards feature individual switches for each key and provide a comfortable, customizable typing experience.

“We’re thrilled to open MK’s first major expansion in Chandler, Arizona,” said Joel Tubre, president of Mechanical Keyboards. “We have begun buildout of the facility and have some exciting plans.  Our products look great online, but they feel and look even better in person. Chandler has been very supportive, and we’re really looking forward to showing customers in Phoenix Metro and the surrounding areas just how awesome these keyboards are in the new showroom.”

“Mechanical Keyboards’ expansion into Chandler is yet another win for the East Valley and creates quality jobs for the residents of Greater Phoenix,” said Chris Camacho, president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “The company is able to better serve customers on the West Coast with this move thanks to the region’s infrastructure and geographic position, and we look forward to watching them scale and being a partner in their continued success.”

“This building has been underutilized for multiple years, but I knew that it had a lot of potential with a few important tweaks,” said Jay Donkersloot, a local investor and previous owner of the property. “It has been a pleasure working with Chandler’s Economic Development team to reposition this property and further activate this exciting employment corridor.”
