CHANDLER, Ariz. – Chandler City Council approved three contracts on Aug. 13 that allow work to begin on the multi-phased improvement of Tumbleweed Ranch. These improvements create a community gathering space that supports daily activities for Chandler residents as well as special events.
Since 1999, Tumbleweed Ranch has told the story of Chandler’s agricultural history. It is a 19-acre portion of Tumbleweed Park that is operated by Chandler Museum and features historic homes, antique agricultural equipment and more.
Phasing and zones of the project were defined in the Master Plan, completed in March 2024. Phase one includes demolition and general site improvements, such as grading, irrigation improvements, retention basins, tree salvage, new tree planting, fencing, a fire access road and relocation of site improvements to the Red Shed Theater.
Work during the second phase includes improvements to the historic farmhouses and surrounding landscape and hardscape, service yard improvements, retention basins, pedestrian paths, irrigation improvements, and a new arbor structure.
The construction agreement was awarded to Klass Services Inc., the post-design services agreement was awarded to Weddle Gilmore and the construction management services agreement was awarded to Dibble CM.
