CHANDLER, Ariz. — The City of Chandler is hosting another opportunity to learn about the General Plan Update. Residents, business owners and stakeholders are invited to step into Chandler’s future through an immersive experience event designed to bring the city’s evolving General Plan to life.

A mobile immersion lab will be open to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 28, starting at 10:30 a.m. until the last showing begins at 6:30 p.m. at SoHo63, 63 E. Boston St., in downtown Chandler. Attendees are encouraged to drop in at any time during the event hours and can expect a brief presentation, followed by the immersive experience.

Using 3D technology, participants will have the opportunity to visualize Chandler’s potential growth and design scenarios that originated from community input gathering during public outreach over the past several months.

“This experience brings planning off the page and into real life,“ said Lauren Schumann, principal planner for the City of Chandler. “It’s an engaging way for our community to see how their feedback directly influences the vision for Chandler’s next decade.”

The event is free and open to all ages. Refreshments will be provided by SanTan Brewing Company.

The General Plan serves as Chandler’s long-range roadmap, guiding future decisions about land use, housing, transportation, open space and more. The public is encouraged to provide input on a current draft of the plan through Dec. 1.
