Although we are still taking reports from residents, we are not sending out code enforcement staff to homes with a reported violation at this time where an interaction with a homeowner is necessary. These cases will be resolved once it is safe for our staff to do so.

For an update on existing cases, please contact 480-782-4320.

Code Enforcement

Graffiti
Residents are still encouraged to report graffiti. Staff will be able to remove it promptly as they do not have to interact with others during the graffiti-removal process. To report graffiti, call or text the Graffiti Hotline at 480-782-4322 (line is available 24 hours); email the Blight Team; or make a report using the City’s PublicStuff app.

Green or Unsecured Pools
Please call to report green or unsecured pools at 480-782-4320.

On March 24, 2020, Governor Doug Ducey issued an executive order delaying the enforcement of eviction action orders for renters impacted by COVID-19. The order applies to renters who are quarantining due to COVID-19 or are facing economic hardship as a result of the outbreak. It will remain in effect for 120 days. In addition, the Arizona Department of Housing offers assistance to Arizonans struggling to make mortgage payments.

If you are in need of food assistance and basic hygiene products, there are several nonprofits that can help you.

Change Up

The City of Chandler does not offer landlord/tenant counseling services, but the city of Phoenix’s Landlord and Tenant Program provides one-on-one counseling and education regarding the Arizona Residential Landlord-Tenant Act.

Walk-in appointments at the Travis L. Williams Family Services Center have been temporarily suspended, however, telephone appointments and email communication will continue to be offered in both English and Spanish.

To request a telephone appointment, call 602-262-7210 or email Landlord Tenant.

Both wait lists are currently closed. If you already applied and need to follow-up with our staff on the status of your application, please contact the Housing and Redevelopment Office at 480-782-3200.

If you can’t pay your rent, mortgage or utility bill, we can help. If you have experienced a loss of income or have unexpected expenses and are in need of assistance, the City of Chandler has funds that can help. If you’ve previously received rent/utility assistance, you are welcome to reapply for additional funding.

Please apply for assistance through Maricopa County or through the Chandler Salvation Army.

Although Household Hazardous Waste Collection has been suspended; there is no change to the City’s solid waste and recycling curbside collection schedules.
