History Bites: Muerte Place

Marco specializes in symbolic mixed media art. Having grown up in an environment with a traditional Dia de los Muertos, he noticed that this celebration while fundamental to and iconic of his community also developed to have a transformative nature; changing over time to accommodate both historical and contemporary grievances.
Marco will provide context to the traditional symbolism of Dia de los Muertos before delving into his own use of symbolism and how he has chosen to include or not include traditional symbols in his own work.
