Assistant City Manager Joshua Wright talks to teens

Attention all Chandler teens! Chandler residents who currently are enrolled in high school or a similar level home-school program are encouraged to apply for the City’s Teen Leadership Academy.

During the five-day program, students will meet with elected officials, managers and staff from City departments to better understand how Arizona’s fourth largest city is run. The free academy will run from March 11-15, (spring break for Chandler Unified and other area school districts) from approximately 9 a.m. to noon each day. Students must have transportation to and from City Hall during the duration of the program.

Applications for the Academy are available online at chandleraz.gov/teenleadership and must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 25. Selected participants will promptly be notified in early February. For the fifth year in a row, the academy is being funded in part by the generosity of the Chandler Kiwanis Club.

For more information about the program, contact the City Council Office at 480-782-2222.
