Chandler, Ariz. – Chandler’s Strategic Initiatives Director, Ryan Peters, has been selected as a 2025 Flinn-Brown Fellow by the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership at the Flinn Foundation. This prestigious fellowship recognizes experienced Arizonans committed to civic leadership and public service.

The Flinn-Brown Fellowship is a nonpartisan program designed to expand the knowledge, skills and networks of Arizona's civic leaders. This intensive public policy institute offers unparalleled learning opportunities about Arizona policy and politics, connections with top state leaders and policy experts and membership in the influential Flinn-Brown Network.

"This is a great opportunity for Ryan to network with Arizona's civic leaders and share Chandler's success stories and past accomplishments representing other organizations," said Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke. "His depth of experience and knowledge in Arizona and regionally will make a vital contribution to these state-level policy discussions."

Peters has nearly 20 years of experience in municipal government and public policy. He leads Chandler’s government relations, transportation policy and grants teams, including serving as the principal person responsible for complex negotiations on behalf of the city. He also serves on the Valley Metro/Regional Public Transit Authority Management Committee.

“I am honored to join the Flinn-Brown Fellowship and collaborate with a network of leaders dedicated to addressing Arizona's long-term challenges,” said Peters. “This opportunity enhances my ability to contribute meaningfully to our state's civic life and I am excited to share lessons learned within the City of Chandler.”

Peters is among 30 Fellows selected this year to begin their journey through the Flinn-Brown Academy, a rigorous 12-session public policy institute starting in August. Sessions will focus on the state budget, demographics, education, health care, human services, environment, infrastructure and criminal justice. He also will join the Flinn-Brown Network of nearly 500 Fellows for the annual Flinn-Brown Convention focused on professional development, collaboration and the shared pursuit of civic leadership that strengthens Arizona.

The Arizona Center for Civic Leadership, launched by the Flinn Foundation in 2011, aims to strengthen civic life in Arizona through education, engagement and leadership development programs. The Flinn-Brown Fellowship is its flagship initiative, fostering a statewide network of civic leaders committed to public service.
